Irish packaging giant Smurfit Kappa has invested $23.5m (€21.9m) to upgrade its sheet plant in Nuevo Laredo in the north-east of Mexico.
The Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) has strengthened its security over €150m in loans already granted to Aer Lingus as part of a wider €350m financing package for the airline, the Irish Independent has learned.
The €1.1bn acquisition of Irish property investment firm Hibernia Reit by Brookfield Asset Management is slated to close next Wednesday following a High Court hearing to approve a scheme of arrangement that will give effect to the deal.
